When I hear the phrase "Writing/Reading Workshop" my initial reaction is to groan. In middle and high school, I found these activities to be a waste of time and frustrating. I felt nervous about sharing my work, especially a rough draft and often found that my classmates rarely took them seriously. Instead of getting positive and helpful feedback from my peers, I would often sit down with my dad and discuss my writing mechanics and creative aspects of my work.
